Morpholio Trace - Sketch CAD App Reviews

The App promisses to be , a good way to sketch for architecture, but needs improvements. It already has a lot of good features compared to other App, but a major drawback is that it only works with Apple pencil on iPad Pro. What about wacom pen and others? No redo button, low resolution in thin Lines, no merge layers, difficult tô chorões colors by roling bar indefinitely. I recommend but more development is needed.

Hi this is an awesome app. One feature request: How can I easily import, edit, and export pdfs? I cant find a way to do this and it would save a lot of time when I correspond to my architect remotely.

For $10.99 subscription based pricing I would expect and ongoing polished product. With only two trace layers down and a small-moderate amount of line work the app becomes buggy freezes and crashes. Will give concepts a try. would love a refund on this.

Perfectly supports the architectural workflow. Very useful for conceptual sketches.

This is a fantastic app. I was having great fun right until my stencil got stuck in the upper right hand corner. Dont put the stencil there because you will never get it back. Will I pay for an app where I cannot rest any of my stencils. No I will not. Fix this issue immediately or give this app for free. Not worth paying for a glitch. Thanks!

I am an architect and I use Morpholios Trace app every day in my practice. It is an excellent app that helps design professionals and artists bridge the gap between hand drawing with tracing paper and the paperless world of digital communication. I use it on my iPad Pro with the Appel pencil. Its intuitive and very powerful. It lets me draw to scale, render or color with a great selection of drawing tools. It saves me a lot of time by letting me save my overlay mark ups or new sketches to Jpeg and PDF files that I can then immediately email out to my staff and consultants. I highly recommend it !

Trace is the new go to app for meetings and design work in our office. It allows use to be extremely responsive and sketch over everything from google earth screenshots at scale to reworking small details of a project. Support is awesome and super responsive. Quickly become an indispensable tool in the everyday practice of architecture at our firm.

For years, I have presented my schematic architectural designs in sketch format to my clients. I do this before developing a project further in CAD. I recently decided to give up the sketch paper, pen, and colored markers. It seems a bit archaic for our digital age. I researched and downloaded several apps in search of a replacement. I decided on Morpholio Trace Pro, and with my iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil, I havent looked back! The flexibility this app provides is so impressive compared with its competition. If youre an Architect, Interior Designer, or any design professional looking for the ideal design presentation tool, look no further. As with any new app, there are a couple of features Id like to see, but Im sure those will be addressed in future releases. I could go on about the individual features, but suffice to say that this app is absolutely worth the very small investment!

Im an architect and use this app daily for building design presentations, site planning, site surveying. What a great tool with a bright future! Makes a great interactive and presentation tool when meeting with clients too.

We have used this app for drawing and tracing during our archaeological field school. Students and professors used the app to draw on site. We especially liked the different tools you could choose and the easy ability to name the files. The app could be improved by adding a feature that would export the scale with the drawings. I’ve already contacted the developers with this idea and they seemed very receptive to new additions! If you are an archaeologist, architect, or just someone who likes drawing and designing — consider buying this worthwhile (and very affordable!) app.

I am an architect in Chicago, and am searching for an app to which I can redline, annotate, and trace architectural drawings from/on. Trace is a great app for several reasons, but has some pitfalls. The good: No other app I can find allows for a true "trace" or layering capability. This is fantastic, and very intuitive for architectural purposes. I LOVE the scalability of the drawings, and being able to measure things right off of the PDFs will be a huge benefit when doing CA work in the field. The bad: Importing a drawing set is more difficult that it should, and this is a BIG deal. Importing an individual PDFs works fine, but for this app to actually make a meaningful impact in my daily life, I would need to be able to import a full drawing set (40+ full size pages for a small project). Currently i have to import each page individually, which is a total waste of my time. Second, I would like to be able to layer a drawing PDF over another PDF. Currently you can only have multiple trace paper layers over a pdf base layer. Overall a unique app that is in the right direction...but still lacks some qualities.

This app and its developer are really doing great things. The ability to import drawings and size to scale for the ruler is really productive. Ive corresponded with the app community team on new ideas and they are very responsive... Great application and value.

This is the app I use most on my iPad Pro with my Apple Pencil! For my architectural and renovation projects. Looking forward for more features to be improved. Such as, line clarity, auto straight line, line dimension, line snap, or able move portion of the trace sketch. Thanks! Great app!

Promising app but it stops drawing every time it auto saves. Sometimes the pen skips in this app. I have not figured out a relationship between the drawing and pen skipping. It also displays blurred pdf when zooming in. Not ready in my opinion.

But the auto saving dialogue is a bit of a nuisance as is the dialogue when you undo an action. Other apps auto save without you knowing that its occurring and undoing a line is instantaneous. Not so with Morpholio. Im on a large iPad Pro so it seems like it shouldnt happen.

Love this app . I have been using it every day since I got it. However It still pretty basic. I would love it if the scale can be lock so it does not get activated with my hand went I rest in tablet to draw.

Never have I been so impressed by an application that I have taken the time to write a review. Powerful yet simple, agile and accurate, complete and conscientious, begin to describe this software. It has my go-to solution to communicate to clients and my design team. Truly exceptional – I hope it more developers learn something from Morpholios attention to detail.

Sorry, but I am not creating an account just to use a tracing app. Deleted off of my iPad as soon as I got that far.
